HOME THEATER DEMONSTRATION BY AUDIOCONTROL, TRIAD SPEAKERS, SIM2 USA, DA-LITE SCREEN AND SYNERGISTIC RESEARCH NABS EHX’S “BEST OVERALL DEMO” AWARD

Acoustical Science and Enthusiastic Teamwork by the Industry’s Top Home Theater Product Manufacturers and Calibrators Came Together for A Winning Presentation That Wowed Spring 2006 EHX!

April 10, 2006 – New York, NY – At the recent Spring 2006 Electronic House Expo in Orlando, Florida, AudioControl, Triad Speakers, SIM2 USA, Da-Lite Screen and Synergistic Research presented dynamic and multi-faceted group demonstrations that both wowed and engaged industry experts and show attendees alike, earning them the EHX Demo Alley Best Overall Demo award.

The demonstration equipment consisted of AudioControl’s Maestro processor, Diva room correction system, Avalon 2-channel and Pantages 5-channel amplifiers; 9 Triad Speakers, Inc. Gold LCRs with 4 Gold PowerSubs; a SIM2 USA C3X DLP 3-chip front projector; Da-Lite’s 100" Cinema Contour acoustically transparent fixed wall projection screen and Resolution Reference and Alpha Sterling Active Shield interconnect cables by Synergistic Research.

The group set-up a 7.1 surround sound system within a 17' by 24' area (including three rows of tiered seating) that was positioned diagonally within a 30,000CF conference room, to eliminate comb filtering, that measured approximately 30' by 55'.

Even with the conference room’s substantial acoustical challenges such as the 20+' high ceilings and mobile partitions, the presentation impressed EHX Demo Alley judges, Gerry Lemay of the Home Acoustics Alliance, Dennis Erskine of Design Cinema Privee, Joel Silver of the Imaging Science Foundation, Charles Bock of Stereo Barn and PARA and CEPro Magazine editor Bob Archer, to award the group with the Best Overall Demo.

“We presented AudioControl, Triad Speakers, SIM2 USA, Da-Lite Screen and Synergistic Research with the Best Overall Demo award for their demonstration’s superb audio reproduction quality and for their excellent job in maximizing the boundaries of the room space,” says Bob Archer.

Dennis Erskine added, “It was absolutely clear the instant the sound began, that this was not 8 speakers playing loud in order to get our attention. This was finesse, not brute force, where excellent products showed what they can really do when care is taken and audio calibrated.”

Planning was initiated months prior to EHX with both Jayson Small, president of Adobe Cinema & Automation LLC, a metro-Detroit based custom luxury electronics firm and Jeffrey S. Polchinski, president of Resonance, a Massachusetts-based custom integration shop -- both HAA certified dealers -- taking the lead on room/system design. Detailed drawings and schematics were developed to ensure success prior to set-up. Once on site, both worked with the manufacturers to ensure proper system set-up and calibrated each component of the audio and video systems.

According to Jeffrey S. Polchinski, “Our demonstration proved that even the worst of rooms can perform optimally when you are armed with the right technical training and the right products, of which AudioControl, Triad Speakers, SIM2 USA, Synergistic and Da-Lite Screen clearly provide.”

Jayson Small furthered, “To deliver a properly calibrated system (both audio and video), it is critical to only use equipment that can perform and provide features and flexibility to support your design. AudioControl does not provide a “push the button and the processors will determine EQ” system – proper equipment and knowledge is required to achieve results.”

The session also included a Q & A segment where attendees interacted with the manufacturer’s executives to learn more about their respective technologies, prompting CEPro Magazine editor Bob Archer to post the following on CEPro’s website: “Most Informative Demo: AudioControl, Triad, Synergistic, Da-Lite and SIM2 USA. They nailed it -- plain and simple. The audio was awesome, the video was great and the presenter was well prepared to explain the system’s odd setup.”

Richard Grays Power Company provided the power conditioners that were used to control plaguing power quality issues that are exacerbated in a commercial environment.
