The Ambient-Visionaire surface is also unique in that it is comprised of billions of nano-mirrors, dithered at the desired viewing angle, and layered so that side light from any direction will be absorbed by carbon particles and the substrate. This approach solves the problems that traditionally plague ambient light-rejecting (ALR) screens, namely hot-spotting, ringing and sparkling. By shrinking the reflective elements down to less than 1/10th the smallest size visible by the human eye, Seymour has created a screen that cannot create a discrete sparkle.
