DALLAS, TEXAS CONSUMER ELECTRONICS EXPO 2009 PROVES HUGELY SUCCESSFUL
Attendees and Exhibitors Optimistic about the Upcoming Selling Season
Dallas, TX – June 30, 2009 – The 5th annual Consumer Electronics Expo (CEE) took place May 30 - 31, 2009 in Frisco, TX. Held at the Embassy Suites Dallas-Frisco Hotel, Convention Center & Spa, the event was hosted by The EDGE Distributors Group member Electronic Lane along with Electronic Lane Mobile, Sunbelt Associates & Distributing and Southwest Electronix and co-sponsors ERA Marketing, Lesco Distributing, PCI, Elite Marketing and McKinney Sales. The event brought 550 dealers together with 95 electronics manufacturers (44 residential product brands and 51 automotive audio / accessory brands) and local-area suppliers. According to Katye McGregor, Manager of the CEE 2009 and Director of The EDGE Group, attendance was very strong, citing that decision makers and principal-owners made up the bulk of the attendance, with many attending the show both days to maximize their time spent with each exhibitor. McGregor says, “Establishing stronger ties with business partners, exchanging ideas, discussing best (and worst) practices, identifying business opportunities and ultimately executing them, that is what this event was about – essentially providing factories and dealers a vehicle to successfully grow their collective businesses.” “I'm hopeful that together we are laying groundwork for the re-growth of our industry, and am energized by the fact that attendees and exhibitors alike reported that they left feeling optimistic about the upcoming season,” added McGregor. The residential product lines represented were APX, Aspire RF (Cooper Wiring Devices), Boston Acoustics, Chief Manufacturing, Current Audio, Chrysalis, Dali, Denon, DNP, Envive, Epson, Esoteric, Ethereal, FatCat, Furman, GrandTech / Panphonics, ICMcorp, Innovolt, Jamo, KEF, KTV, LG, Marantz, Nexus, NuVo Technologies, Parasound, Pantel, Planet Waves, Severtson, Sherbourn, SIM2, Russound, Sanus Systems, Sonance, TEAC, Triad Speakers, Tripp Lite, TruAudio, Universal Remote Control, Velodyne, Xantech, Yamaha, and Zektor. Looking forward, McGregor says the 6th annual CEE (2010) will be an even better event, with more exhibits, training and networking opportunities. “We have several top-tier manufacturers already committing to come back next year. Many are looking to establish an even larger footprint on the show floor and increase their exposure in the 4-state area. We hope to announce details in late summer/early fall,” says McGregor.
