AUDIO DESIGN ASSOCIATES INTRODUCES RVCS-8: AN 8-ROOM REMOTE VOLUME CONTROL SYSTEM SOLUTION TARGETED AT $1,000 MSRP
A Cost Efficient, High-Quality Audio Control Solution From The CEDIA Market’s High-Performance Distributed Audio Leader
Las Vegas, NV – January 8, 2007 - At this year’s ICES, Audio Design Associates (ADA) -- the recognized brand of excellence in high-end custom installed electronics – announced the introduction of the RVCS-8 Remote Volume Control System.
Fitting within a single rack space, the RVCS-8 is a remote volume control system that enables a custom integrator to connect a single input to eight individually volume controlled outputs. The unit is perfectly matched with ADA’s PTM-1645 (90 watt/per zone) 8-zone amplifier.
The RVCS-8 has 8-independent digitally controlled volume preamplifiers with 20 volume steps in 2dB steps (-50dB - 0dB). According to ADA, unlike the many low-priced, inefficient speaker level controls on the market today, the RVCS-8’s volume is controlled at line level via digital shaft encoders.
Low voltage triggers activate each amplifier zone. An input trim control is provided for the single source input via a rear chassis mounted knob. CAT-5 connection inputs for each zone enables the RVCS-8 with wiring flexibility and compatibility with future system upgrades. LED displays indicate each zone’s volume, main power switch and all off/standby switches.
Albert G. Langella, ADA’s CEO and Chief Design Engineer notes, “Essentially, our dealers asked us for a starter ADA multi-room system that would leave the door wide open for upgrades. Combined with our inexpensive RVC-5 controls and PTM-1645 power amplifier, the RVCS-8 delivers eight independent rooms utilizing standard structural wiring schemes with CAT-5 to keypad locations with home run speakers. Later on, the customer can add an ADA Suite 8x8 or Suite 16 preamplifier as well as our widely popular MC-6011 keypads - all without running a single new wire.”
ADA COO and VP Richard Stoerger says, “Where previously an ADA dealer had to turn elsewhere for a remote volume control solution mated with our amplifiers, the RVCS-8 fills this gap – and at a very competitive price-point. This is important for ADA, as we have long been known for providing integrators with audio products of the highest caliber – all custom manufactured right here in America. The RVCS-8 continues this tradition for ADA, especially at a time when the majority of our competitor’s products are made off-shore.”
