September 10, 2004 – Indianapolis, IN – Esteemed theatre seating manufacturer Irwin Seating Company today introduced the Performance VIP family of home theatre seating that blends unique styling with features designed to heighten the entertainment experience and simplify seating selection and room design. The line consists of Recliner, Club Chair and Theatre-Rocker styles that are available in various models and with many options.

Performance VIP models combine form and function. Working with leading home theatre industry acousticians, Irwin created a low-back version with optional telescoping and articulating headrest that provides an unobstructed acoustical experience. A special recline feature enables full footrest extension in both movie-watching and fully reclined positions.

The Performance VIP family solves the common design issue of mismatched chairs within the home theatre. “Quite often we see one particular style or brand used for the front row and something completely different used in the rear rows, and it detracts from the theatre’s overall aesthetics,” says Pefhany. “All Performance VIP models can be mixed and matched, creating a more cohesive design and effective seating layout than ever before. Performance VIP Recliner
Performance VIP Recliner is an ultra-luxurious and exquisitely tailored chair available in a variety of design and comfort options including furniture-finish wood tabletops and accents; manual or power recline; heat, massage and adjustable lumbar support. Chair-arms are available with either hidden storage for accessories or can be factory-ordered for easy connection of power and data ports, ideal for integration with a wide array of electronic gadgets, making connection to the Internet via a laptop computer or simply plugging in a video camera or system controller a breeze.

Irwin created a low-back version with optional telescoping and articulating headrest that provides an unobstructed acoustical experience. A special recline feature enables full footrest extension in both movie-watching and fully reclined positions.

Optional Bass Shakers can be installed into the underside of the chair to recreate thumps, thrusts and shakes common in action movies. Performance VIP Club Chair
The Performance VIP Club Chair offers roomy 24-inch wide seating while maintaining a footprint small enough to maximize seating layouts. An articulating back provides a gentle rocking motion for increased freedom-of-movement and comfort. The special 38-inch high back is tall enough to provide optimal support yet low enough to provide an unobstructed acoustical experience.

Stylish end-arms feature high quality furniture-finish tabletop surfaces and exquisite wood accenting. Optional Bass Shakers can be installed into the underside of the chair to recreate thumps, thrusts and shakes common in action movies. Club Chair is available in single chair, loveseat and sofa combinations. Manufacturer suggested retail-pricing ranges from $2,000 to $3,300 depending on options.

Performance VIP Theatre-Rocker
Performance VIP Theatre-Rocker, which has the same strong lines and impressive design as the Performance VIP Recliner and Club Chair models, is an excellent choice for an entire theatre and is ideal for secondary or rear row seating. This fully upholstered chair incorporates an articulating back that provides a gentle rocking motion for increased freedom-of-movement and comfort. The chair’s 38-inch high back provides optimal back support while providing an unobstructed acoustical experience. Theatre-Rocker is available in single chair, loveseat and sofa combinations. Manufacturer suggested retail-pricing ranges from $1,060 to $1,640 depending on options.
